Workshop on Solar Photovoltaic Power, Technology & Mfg.

Solar Photovoltaic Power, Technology and Manufacturing
October 29, 2010 - 14.00 To 17.30 Hours

Solar Energy Society of India (SESI) is hosting a half day Parallel Session during Delhi International Renewable Energy Conference (DIREC) – 2010 being organized by Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Govt. of India on 27-29 October, 2010. The theme of the SESI Parallel Session “PV Power, Technology and Manufacturing” since India has set up very ambitious target of achieving installed capacity of 20,000 MW of Grid Solar Power by the year 2022 under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission. As we are aware, currently the bulk of Solar PV industry in India is importing most of the critical raw materials and components – including silicon wafers. It is intended to have low – cost, high quality solar manufacturing facilities in India. Also, there are already quite a few megawatt scale SPV projects in operation in India but the balance of system components of high quality are being imported which are required to be produced in the country.

The SESI Parallel Session to be held on the afternoon of 29th October, 2010 is likely to be attended by a large number of high Govt. officials, policy makers, professionals, industry representatives, research institutions and other stake holders in the solar energy sector.
